Adventures in Vietnam | Thirteen Three Ambassador Trip

From left: David Low, Tadhg Parker, Katherine Konemann, Brad Konemann (Youth Director), Bronwyn Mercer, Rebecca Sparkes.
Thirteen Three’s Ambassadors are travelling to Vietnam in July to meet with persecuted Christians.
I asked David, Bron, Bec and Tadhg how they are feeling about the trip.
1. What are you excited about going to Vietnam?
David: I can’t wait to see the different country, the different people and culture, and meeting with the Christians in Vietnam.
Bron: I’m excited about traveling overseas for a different cultural experience and to be in fellowship with a great team and Vietnamese Christians who love the same God that we do.
Bec: I am excited about many things; seeingVietnam, trying new food, but I am most excited about meeting my brothers and sisters over there, I want to hear their stories of how God is working in their lives.
Tadhg: I can barely comprehend what’s in store for us, what we will see and experience. But I think that’s what I’m excited about – exiting my comfort zone, meeting Vietnamese Christians and hearing their stories.
2. What are you hoping to learn?
David: I am hoping that I will learn more about what it’s actually like for the Christians to live in Vietnam, and why they live for Christ.
Bron: I am hoping to learn more about God and what it means to be completely dependent on Him for everything. I am interested in learning about the everyday lives of persecuted Christians and how they respond and are affected by hardship they have experienced.
Bec: I am hoping to learn more about Kingdom living when I go over toVietnam. That is learning from persecuted Christians to keep my eyes on what is really important in this life.
Tadhg: I am hoping to learn from the people we meet – from their experiences, their trials and their trust in God. I can’t wait to hear the stories of ordinary people living extraordinarily radical lives for their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
3. How can people pray for you?
David: I would love prayer for strength for each day, that God will challenge our hearts and really impact us to make a difference for Him, and that we can be an encouragement to the Christians that we meet.
Bron: Please pray that I would be emotionally moved and responsive to those who I meet and that my experience would not just be impacting my life within those ten days but also into the future.
Bec: Please pray that God would really speak to my heart through this trip, most importantly that I would take what he wants me to learn back home with me.
Tadhg: Please partner with us in prayer, that we would stay strong in our travels and health would abound, that we would be continually encouraged by our Vietnamese brothers and sisters, and that we would learn much, so that we can bring their stories to you.
Please leave a message to encourage the team in the comments below. Thank you for following our adventures in Vietnam!

God Bless you on your trip to Vietnam!
Praying for you and our brothers and sisters there in Vietnam to touch the lives of others who don’t know Jesus Christ.
Have an amazing time everyone!
see you back at youth group next term Bron and you can tell us all about it!
I pray that God will give you a deep burden for the persecuted church as you meet our persecuted brothers and sisters in Vietnam and hear their stories of courageous faith. I pray that this will be a really significant time in your lives where God shapes you into the people He wants you to be.
It’s going to be an adventure with plenty of stories to tell at the end of it. I can’t wait to share this incredible experience with each of you.
Bound with them.
